about me
the face behind the code
hey there ๐
I'm a software engineering polyglot with 8+ years of experience and a background in Computer Science. I love building things that make a difference, whether it's leading teams, architecting solutions, or diving deep into code. I also enjoy mentoring junior engineers and helping them grow.
My journey has taken me through the entire engineering ecosystem โ from frontend and mobile development to backend, cloud architecture, data engineering, SRE and DevOps. I'm big on team culture and believe in bringing positive energy to every project I work on.
what I'm up to
I co-founded Midhana to help small businesses solve real problems, fitting it around everything else whenever I can. Alongside that I've been building entrepreneurial projects and taking them to production.
One of those is Muezzin - a Raspberry Pi powered device that calls to Islamic prayers (adhan) through a user selected sound system. My family, friends and I use it every day and rely on it for all five daily prayers. It runs software I wrote, features OTA updates, and is consumer ready. I'm also working on one major B2B project and two B2C projects, all focused on solving real-world problems. I also take on select client projects - if you're interested in working together, feel free to reach out.
Too often, we get caught up in building the next shiny thing, but I approach problems with a focus on creating solutions that are maintainable and scalable from the ground up, with industry pain points serving as the foundation. That said, the nerd within me loves to dive deep into bleeding edge technologies. I'm currently utilising generative AI for ideation, design, and development, and building AI-enabled features in my own solopreneur projects.
what I do for fun
When I'm not engineering, I'm reading, watching documentaries on YouTube, travelling the world, going to the gym or following motorsports.
